What to see in Tel Aviv

Neve Tzedek

This neighborhood connects to the south with the promenade and is close to Jaffa, another important suburb. It represents the cultural spirit of the city with a serene atmosphere. Tourists generally like to take a walk around the neighborhood to escape the noisy. It is ideal to culminate a busy but exciting day of beach and excursions. Even for those who wish to start the day placidly, its restaurants and culinary centers are there to leave a good taste with fresh breads, dairy products, fresh vegetables and an aromatic coffee. Its corners are discreet refuges for artists, playwrights and composers. Museums, galleries and cafés are capsules of inspiration and interaction in a bohemian atmosphere. A comprehensive tour of the entire neighborhood is ideal with a tourist guide. Hand in hand with a good cultural repertoire you will have what you need to choose what you want to see.

Jaffa

It’s the neighborhood most visited by tourists, we are in front of the suburb that houses more artist in the entire city. The stroll by its maritime port gives a moment to taste with the fishing activity and the air of the Mediterranean. Its port represented one of the main points of entry for pilgrims and immigrants who wished to reach the Holy Land during the Crusades. This populated district has an old date; and it is that for more than 7 millennia its name has been made known by biblical texts, being the same biblical character Noah founder of this settlement.  This place has been embellished by modern art in allusion to biblical stories, the persecution of the Jewish people as well as relics from different eras. Don’t forget to take a tour of its temples and galleries, as well as its nightclubs.

White City

The city of Tel Aviv has the largest number of Bauhaus-designed buildings in the world. Most are concentrated in the White City neighborhood. This result, which composes the beauty and whiteness of this school of Jewish architecture, has given UNESCO reasons to award it as a world heritage site. Located in the heart of the city, its whiteness makes it necessary for landscaped areas to compensate for the sun’s brightness. It is practically an open-air museum where every corner shelters simple contours. The intensity of its elaboration is reflected in its window facades, geometries, in short; the best example of this architectural discipline that you will not see anywhere else in the world. There are outstanding examples worthy of a good photograph, such as the Baumel House, the Rusbinsky Braun Haus and the headquarters of the Russian Embassy.

Yarkon Park

A different space to the one we are accustomed to in so much activity and so much walking. Tel Aviv has places to make a parenthesis, but nothing compares to this magical place. The Yarkon Park is composed of thematic designs distributed in 6 beautiful landscaped areas with the following concepts; Commemoration of the Fallen Soldiers, The Victims of Terror, Garden of the Rocks, Garden of the Cactus, Tropical Garden and the Trimmed Garden. As if that weren’t enough, facilities for outdoor artistic events are part of its attractions. Try a barge ride on its lakes or visit its water park. You’ll see that this park has a lot to give and nothing to envy the great parks of the world. If all of a sudden it makes you want to get away from it all, you can visit its picnic areas or simply bike around its northern area and enjoy the elements that adorn the landscape.

Church of San Pedro

This important city for religious tourism has several precious places of worship. One of the most prominent is this seventeenth-century church in what was formerly the medieval city. Its location in the neighborhood of Jaffa, very close to its port deserves a separate space to tell you about this wonderful site of obligatory visit. This church has been the object of vexations in its structure on different occasions. However, restoration and reinforcement work has given it the appearance that it currently looks like. Since time immemorial, its bell tower has been a guide for pilgrims who entered the city, who were ahead of the rest due to its height. Its interior art stands out for the greenery of its marble on the walls as well as the colours of the stained glass windows. Napoleon Bonaparte reached this place during his visit in 1799.

Rothschild Boulevard

This valley is one of the first to be built in Israel and has just completed its first century. Today it is the central nerve of the city of Tel Aviv. It has in its lap most of the cultural, and commercial life. On both sides you can see important buildings whose styles represent the Bauhaus school. Numerous shops, restaurants, bars are counted by the dozens. Elite personalities of the Israeli society usually give themselves a placid afternoon and residence along this street. It’s tempting to pedal along its numerous trails; an activity that has come to include many tourists lately. You’ll have to come to understand how wonderful it is.

Eretz Israel Museum

The purpose of this museum is to show its visitors the Jewish roots through an anthropological perspective. It illustrates the archaeology of the region in tangible and historiographic elements. And more than religious tourism and attractions Tel Aviv invites in this space to know and learn a little about this society that for thousands of years has set the tone in the development of history. The rooms are interactive and those artifacts of daily and industrial use. Some pieces are exact replicas that will bring you closer to their respective eras. The types of materials, be they metals, wood or glass, are divided into different areas. Also the elaboration of basic products for the food has a dedicated space. This zone has been depository of different epochs in archaeological deposits which have been extracted to be exhibited in this museum.
